Beatles Competitions
Beatles Movies Competition 1 Result
Many thanks for all your entries! The competition winner this month is E. Dunston of London. Congratulations! A copy of A Hard Day's Night on DVD will be winging its way towards you very soon!
Competition Two .... Win a copy of John’s Sweet Toronto on DVD (R2) and a copy of Ringo’s book, ‘Postcards From the Boys’!
John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band played their first and last performance at the Sweet Toronto Peace Festival in 1969 that featured Yoko Ono, famed guitarist Eric Clapton and renowned musicians Alan White and Klaus Voorman. The DVD features John in his only performance with the Plastic Ono Band. It includes blistering footage of rock and roll standards such as ‘Blues Suede Shoes’ and ‘Money,’ together with such Lennon classics as ‘Cold Turkey’ and ‘Give Peace a Chance.’ It's a must have item for any Beatles and/or Lennon fan.
Ringo's book, Postcards from The Boys was first published in softcover in 2005 and is a wholly charming selection of postcards (and their texts), written to Ringo over the years from the other three Beatles. They are by turns witty, surreal, moving, and revealing. Ringo kindly donated his royalties to the Lotus Foundation.
To enter, simply answer the following question:
Which famous documentary film-maker, most famous for his work on Bob Dylan's Don't Look Back, also directed ‘Sweet Toronto?’
