The Beatles Movies

Welcome to the Beatles Movies!

This month please check out the answers to the quiz that was set a while back. And make sure you take a look at the new article, which deals with the fascinating links between the Beatles and Monty Python's film and TV productions.

The Beatles Movies

This site is designed and dedicated to facilitating a greater understanding and enjoyment of the Beatles five feature films, A Hard Day’s Night, Help!, Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine, and Let It Be. It is operated by Bob Neaverson, one of the UK’s leading experts in the Beatles films, and author of two authoritative books on the subject, The Beatles Movies, first published in 1997, and At the Apple’s Core, which was co-written with Denis O’Dell, the former Head of Apple Films and producer of many of the Beatles films and promotional clips.

When it was first published in 1997, Bob Neaverson’s Beatles Movies was highly acclaimed as the first in depth critical analysis of the Beatles film output, and the first to place them within their cultural context. Now, in an unprecedented move, Bob has taken the decision to publish the book, free of charge to readers, for the first time on the WWW, despite numerous offers to re-publish a new edition of the book in ‘hard-copy’ formats!

As such, it is the world’s first Beatles site to include an entire book of the Beatles book online. And there’s more! Although the book forms the core content of the site, the site will be continuously updated, so as well as the book, you will find an ever-growing range of quizzes, interviews, trivia, competitions, and plenty of additional articles, features and reviews on other related aspects of the Beatles movie career, such as their promo clips, solo film outings, TV appearances, discographies and a wide range of other features. Enjoy!

Below: Praise for the original book publication;

"The production histories are fascinating, and so is the account of how each film worked as a marketing tool for successive incarnations of the band...concise, resonant writing."
